TCA Elections

Wayne Xiong (father of GM Jeffery Xiong) endorses Tom Crane, Tarrant County Chess Club President, for Texas Chess Association President.

My dear chess friends,
I am very happy to hear Tom Crane is running for president of Texas Chess Association. Our family has known Tom for many years, seeing him volunteering or playing in chess events. I have always been impressed with his passion in chess and his passion to contribute to chess, making chess a fun game for players of all ages, especially kids. Chess is a game with outstanding educational value. I have seen that first hand through my son Jeffery Xiong's journey from a 5-year-old boy starting to play to an International Grand Master winning World Junior Chess Championship at the age of 15 and made to Team USA at the age of 16. Many young talented kids in Texas are capable of accomplishing great things in chess and they need support from Texas Chess Association. TCA needs a strong leader like Tom with vision and passion and willing to do the hard work to support young players! Please join me and Jeffery in voting for Tom!
